Panama Canal Moves Forward with US$8.5 Billion Expansion Programme

On 4 November, the Panama Canal confirmed progress towards two new container terminals expected to attract US$2.6 billion, alongside a proposed liquefied petroleum gas pipeline estimated at US$4–8 billion. These projects form part of a wider US$8.5 billion logistics and energy expansion programme; the pipeline remains proposed and has not been awarded.
