Hungary Proposes Pensioner SZÉP-Card Support for Domestic Leisure Spending

Hungary’s 2027 budget proposal includes a first-stage SZÉP-card scheme for more than two million pensioners receiving monthly pensions below HUF 500,000. The total value of the proposed card allocation was not specified. The measure could create opportunities for hotels, restaurants and domestic leisure businesses through additional consumer spending.
